Phase 1:
24 fictional crime stories – literary short fiction enriched with regional menu ideas
Told in the spirit of Roald Dahl – no police inspectors, no procedural routine, but a fine touch of suspense.
Each story plays with the reader’s perception: sometimes macabre, sometimes absurd – always surprising. A game of morals, dark humor – and the abyss behind the idyll.
And because crime and cuisine often lie closer together than we think:
Every episode includes a three-course menu – based on local recipes from Madeira.
Sometimes integrated into the story itself, sometimes offered as an idea for your own private „crime dinner“ experience at home.
Published as a book, PDF or Kindle – available in English, German and Portuguese.

Interactive Experiences at Real Locations
What begins as literary fiction shall later become tangible reality:
Visitors (and locals!) on Madeira will become detectives themselves – using QR codes, audio clues or location-based riddles to unravel each case step by step, right at the original crime scenes.
A hybrid format between story and experience:
Tourists discover the island in a playful, immersive way Local gastronomy can be integrated (e.g. Crime Dinner events) Hotels and tourism providers may benefit as cooperation partners

Why I started this project
Madeira is my chosen home – an island of contrasts: wild yet gentle, sunny yet mysterious.
Over the years, I haven’t just visited the island – I’ve lived it, in all its quiet corners and untold stories.
„The Madeira Files“ is my way of capturing that atmosphere in fiction – with mysterious tales that reveal the unease within the beautiful, spiced with wit and irony.
I write to leave traces. And I invite readers to follow them – with curiosity, playfulness, and a keen eye.
Whoever supports this journey becomes part of a project that not only entertains – but reimagines the island in a whole new light.
